Biography:


When Donald R. Brewer began his career over 30 years ago, he focused his law practice in the area of patent and trademarks. However, as the demand for personal injury representation grew, along with his trial expertise, his focus began to shift to the area of personal injury representation. Today his law practice specializes in assisting clients who have suffered personal injury, whether from car accidents, catastrophic injury, traumatic brain injury, elder abuse, injury as a result of defective products, or the many other areas that personal injury law encompasses.

Mr. Brewer graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S.E.E. in 1967. He worked as an Engineer for Eastman Kodak for three years and attended John Marshall Law School where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 1973. During his law school career he was fortunate enough to study overseas with a University of Notre Dame program in Uxbridge , England , expanding his knowledge and educational experience in the area of the English common law, which is the basis for the personal injury litigation that he practices today.

In 1973, Mr. Brewer began his legal career at Zenith Radio Corporation as a patent attorney in patent and trademark litigation. In 1975, he opened his own private practice in the city of Chicago with an emphasis on litigation and has practiced litigation since that time. He was licensed and admitted to the Illinois Bar and registered to practice for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, several federal courts and the United States Supreme Court.

Throughout the years, Mr. Brewer has been very active in his community. His community involvement grew and enveloped 17 years of elected office serving as the President of the Village of Algonquin from 1989 until 1993 and then being elected to serve his Algonquin District on the McHenry County Board, where he serves until his final elected term expires in December, 2006.

Active in legal service as well, he is a past member of the Chicago Patent Law Association, Chicago Bar Association and Illinois and American Bar Association. He is currently a member of the National Head Injury Foundation, the McHenry County Bar Association and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Donald R.
